Support a young man’s journey
"My son has been SHOWING UP!! He's been speaking and acting like a man, treating his elders with absolute respect, he embraced his mom and asked for forgiveness for being so hard with her, he wouldn't let me do any serving him, instead he served me, what a gift.."

The core of Young Men's Weekend is the T.O.R.C.H. framework, representing Trust, Ownership, Responsibility, Confidence, Humility, and Fun. Our mission is to empower young men through a transformative rite of passage, rooted in centuries-old traditions of mentorship and value transmission. We aim to cultivate resilient, principled, and community-minded individuals.
The event commences with check-in at 5:30 pm on Friday, July 31st and concludes at 12:30 pm on Sunday, August 2nd . The weekend is filled with purposeful activities designed to foster growth and teamwork:
Friday: Check-in, camp setup, and an orientation to outline the Weekend’s goals.
Saturday: A full day featuring an obstacle course, collaborative “hurdles” to encourage teamwork, and three solid meals.
Sunday: Continued activities, a special morning ceremony welcomes fathers and male guardians to participate, culminating in a graduation, then a final pickup ceremony open to all family members and guardians.
Participants will also engage in practical tasks like camp setup and breakdown, promoting responsibility and teamwork.
Young Men's Weekend is organized by Kaizen Dojo, an organization renowned for its community-driven initiatives. Our facilitators are seasoned mentors, including grandfathers, fathers, and esteemed community leaders, with over two decades of experience training men and leading youth programs. Their expertise ensures a nurturing and impactful environment for personal development.
Location: Southern California — venue announced to registered families closer to the weekend. Our staff will oversee all camping.
Last year's gathering took place at Holcomb Valley Ranch in Fawnskin, CA. Surrounded by thousands of acres of National Forest and just a couple miles from Big Bear Lake, Holcomb Valley Ranch is a unique campground set on a 400-acre private ranch.
For young men ages 13-20 with certain exceptions.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants is our utmost priority. A dedicated safety team will provide continuous 24/7 supervision throughout the event. Our staff includes at least one CPR-certified and professionally trained individual ready to respond to emergencies. First aid kits will be readily accessible on-site. Parents can contact our designated point person, Mr. Juarez 323-977-8567 at any time for updates or concerns.
Our experienced facilitators are trained to handle homesickness and emotional distress with empathy and care. With years of mentorship experience, they create a supportive atmosphere for participants. Parents can reach Mr. Juarez at 323-977-8567 for any communication needs during the event. We prioritize clear and open communication to ensure peace of mind.
We maintain a respectful and inclusive environment. Should conflicts or disruptive behavior arise, our staff will address them promptly and fairly. Participants who repeatedly disrupt the group may be asked to leave to preserve the positive experience for all.
Yes, we offer a post-event mentoring call two weeks after the weekend to discuss participants’ experiences, provide insights, and outline next steps for their continued growth.
